| This college has the honour to be recognized by N.C.T.E. and accepted as a Nodal Institution of India. The college has also been accreditated & re- accreditated as an ‘A’ grade Institution by NAAC. In addition to providing facilities for the degrees of PGDCA(T.E.), B.Ed. and M.Ed. the college provides facilities for part time Ph.D. programmes in the faculty of Education. The college acts as a Center for in-service Teacher Education for B.Ed. (Distance Mode) of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi and M.Ed. (Distance Mode) of IGNOU , New Delhi. Keeping in pace with the demands of the global job market, our institution has introduced three new courses viz. PG Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education, Certificate course in Early childhood care and Education and Certificate course in Human Rights and Duties Education. For these programmes, we are in the process to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Newzealand , Teritary College, Auckland, Newzealand. The College has been producing the maximum number of UGC - NET/JRF clear candidates year after year. | |
| The college has received grants of 39.9 Lacs from the UGC during the eleventh plan period for upgradation of the infrastructure. UGC has established Gandhian Research Centre in the college and has given a grant of Rs.9 Lacs per annum. Every thing about Khalsa College of Education has a stamp of superior quality on it. Its magnificient heritage building, its lush green grounds, its all round and studious students,its tireless teachers and its far-sighted and munificient Management Committee have contributed to the making of the legend of Khalsa College of Education. Modern age is the age of merit and performance. It is turning towards fast changes and bringing new challenges every moment. Universities are spreading their wings and boundaries are melting in this age of global competitions and compatibilities. TQM is the order of the day. The college is the 1st institution in the country to take initiative to reframe M.Ed.& B.Ed. curriculum in the light of National Curriculum Framework For Teacher Education 2009. The college not only conducted two workshops for this purpose but also organised a National Seminar to sensitize the colleges of education for adapting new curriculum suggested by NCTE. We have already made a beginning by adding ON-LINE education through EDUSAT, unlimited access to INTERNET, making the campus Wi-Fi enabled, Yoga Therapy, Physiotherapy and Free Gymnasium facilities. The college has already inaugurated Heritage Guest House with effect from September, 2009 with a accommodation of 40 Guests. The College has separate Maharani Jindan & Jind Hostels for girls and boys which has a capacity of 72 and 80 respectively. The college has unique 5 KW Hybrid Solar Wind Energy Power Sysytem which has been commissioned with a cost of 16.5 Lacs to provide Clean Energy.Not only this, under save energy drive, the College has switched over to LCD Dusk- to-Dawn lighting system. In hostels and college guest houses, solar water heating systems have been installed. Our endeavour is to achieve 100% clean energy target. This college will be the only college in Punjab with a 100% Hybrid Solar Wind Energy Power System. We have to match the new computer and Information Technology revolution with a new educational renaissance. So, our endeavor should be to add new dimensions to this vibrant center of excellence, so that it keeps growing meaningfully. We know that the pursuit of excellence is an on-going process. Every day counts in it and we have to justify each day we spend here. The road ahead is clear and well-lighted.
