Invitation to present Research Paper or Participation as delegate in the National Seminar on   
‘Mahatma Gandhi :   Apostle of Global Peace and Harmony’,on Saturday, March 24,2012.

The Gandhian Studies Centre, Khalsa College of Education, Amritsar was established in the year 2010 with the financial assistance from UGC under the scheme of ‘Epoch Making Social Thinkers of India’. The centre aims to disseminate Gandhian values in the society by conducting workshops, seminars and extension activities. In our endeavor to enlighten the academicians, teacher educators, teachers, students and NGOs; the centre has decided to organize  One Day  National  Seminar  on ‘Mahatma Gandhi :   Apostle of Global Peace and Harmony’, on Saturday, March 24,2012 at  9.00 AM in the newly constructed Gandhian Bhawan in the college. The sub-themes of this seminar will be:-

1. 1) Peace Education : Rediscovering the vision of Mahatma Gandhi
2. 2) Relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s Philosophy In The Era Of Globalisation
3. 3) Gandhiji’s view on Technology
4. 4) Pragmatic Strategies  for Adopting  Gandhian  Philosophy in Education
5. 5) Schools as Nurseries of Peace : A Gandhian Alternative
6. 6) Gandhiji’s Concept of Swadeshi And Promotion of Peace
7. 7) Poverty Eradication And People’s Empowerment Through Gandhian Philosophy
8. Neither Peace Nor War But Non-Violent Struggle

The papers presented in the seminar will be published by the organizers in the Souvenir which will be released on the Seminar day.  Original papers and research articles are invited in English only. The final papers alongwith the abstract should be sent through E-mail(jsdhillon@rediffmail.com) not exceeding 10 pages on A4 size sheet by using Times New Roman(font size 12) on or before 10th March,2012.Hard copy and one CD-ROM will be submitted at the time of registration. Kindly stick  to the time limit for submission of paper(March 10,2012),so that your paper is published in the Souvenir.

All the logistic arrangements for the presentation of papers like Multi-media, OHP, Direct projector, Slide projector etc. will be made available by the institution. Each resource person will be given 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for Interaction/Highlights.

It is, hereby, requested to send at least two teachers of your institution to attend this seminar either as resource persons to  present their research paper/s  on the theme/sub-themes suggested in this letter or as delegates to attend this seminar. Registration fee for all the participants is mandatory. For teacher delegates the fee is Rs. 500/- and for students Rs. 300/-.Registration fee includes tea, breakfast & lunch  for one day. The registration fees should be paid in cash /DD/cheque in favour of Principal,Khalsa College of Education,Amritsar. The delegates will claim TA/DA from their respective institutions. Certificates of paper presentation or participation as delegates will be awarded.
